    Linksys Router/Belkin Laptop Card

    I have a ~6 -7 month old Linksys Wired/Wireless router and Belkin F5D7010 Notebook card for sale. Both work great, I needed more range to reach the shop and had to go Pre-N on both ends.
    The WRT54G is Open Source Linux based so it's very tweakable.
    I'll offer both here for $60, plus shipping before going to EBay. Based on the cheapest prices I have found online, I think this is a good offer, feel free to correct me if I'm in error.

    SOLD

      Is it a plunge or fixed base?

        Do you know what hardware rev you have? The serial number is your guide:

        CDF0 = WRT54G v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
        CDF1 = WRT54G v1.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
        CDF2 = WRT54G v1.1 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
        CDF3 = WRT54G v1.1 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 125Mhz
        CDF5 = WRT54G v2.0 / ADM6996L Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
        CDF7 = WRT54G v2.2 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
        CDF8 = WRT54G v3.0 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
        CDF9 = WRT54G v3.1 / BCM5325EKQM Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
        CDFA = WRT54G v4.0 / BCM5352E Chipset / CPU 200Mhz
        CDFB = WRT54G v5.0 / BCM5352EKPB Chipset / CPU 200Mhz

        NOTE: The WRT54G v5.0 has 2Mb/8Mb Ram, it uses VxWorks OS and is incompatable with 3rd Party Firmware.
        I bring it up because before rev 5 is more desirable than after. Those looking to run aftermarket firmware (including me) will want a v4 or below unit.

          Rob,
          I meant to mention that specifically in the OP. It's CDF8, V3.0. Thanks for reminding me.

            I suppose you tried an antenna upgrade?

              Loring,
              yes, I tried a few home made solutions with some, but not enough success. The Linksys works great inside a house but is just a tad short on getting out to the shop, about 100+ feet away, through 3 walls. The optional factory antennas or range extenders approach the price of a Pre-N router.

              I'll be putting these items on EBay tomorrow if they're not sold.

                OK, I found the standard antenna on my D-Link in one corner of downstairs just barely got a signal to the other corner downstairs.
                I got a SMC antenna (any brand) with about 4-6 dB of gain and I get a good signal upstairs and downstairs. on all my machines now.

                Was only aboiut $14 or so.

                  I'm interested in the router, would you consider splitting them up?
