    Surprise decision stuns crowd

In a surprise decision, my wife and girls chose the basement bath and laundry room for the next project rather than the kitchen/dining room or the master bed and bath.

Their reasoning ... the basement bathroom is just plain nasty and they have to go upstairs every time.

We started demolition Sunday after church and they went shopping when we found a dead mouse in the wall. I think that's justification to finally build my office in the basement at the same time since I've been working at home and have had my computer set up on the ping pong table for 6 months.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Good luck on your projects.

That really is all the justification you need. I work at home myself and if I did not have a separate room for it, I would go crazy. Dead mice > crazy!

I gotta hand it to you for giving up the ping pong table. I love ping pong. That's a lot of space to set up a computer. At least you are starting at the bottom of the "to do" list... literally. And, in my book, a dead mouse is better than a live one. Sounds like you have your hands full for a while, and you will likely have some gripes in the near future to vent. Don't feel overwhelmed, just consider it fun.

Kind of gives a new meaning to "pinging" a computer.....

I work at home 1-2 days a week. My 'office' is a computer armoire in the guest room in the basement. My girls are actually pretty good about not bothering me.

If you have questions about the basement bath, let me know. I finished mine up last spring.
