Same Problem Here
I want to throw my $.02 in just in case it can help someone else.
We had the same problem(s) and went through all the possible solutions. After a lot of wasted time we finally started cutting out drywall in adjoining room - I wanted to figure out once and for all what was going on. It turned out that when the house was built, whoever installed the glass shower door's hardware drove a screw right into the water line. It took approx 8 years for the screw to finally rust away enough to start leaking. We had access to the water line from the lower level (because I cut the drywall out there too) so we cut out a section of the pipe and replaced it. Treated framing & subfloor, patched drywall and ants are gone (atleast for now).
What really threw me off was that the water pipe came up from the basement at the edge of the shower pan (thus where the shower door hardware would be) and about a foot above the shower pan floor the water line split to come over 16 inches to the center of the shower (where the nozzel is).
It's hard to explain but hopefully you get the picture. Even though our leak wasn't directly below the water nozzel doesn't mean there's not a leak in the water line - the water line doesn't have to be in a direct line up to the nozzel.
