Thanks a lot for tempting the fates with this poll. They got me. I agree with all of the post about plumbing being a p.i.t.a. Plumbing problems always take me ten trips to the store and involve the purchase of some special tool and multiple fittings. But I selected Electrical in the poll because you asked for "least favorite", not which one is the hardest, longest, most frustrating activity. I picked electrical because it can kill you. Well that hubris was just enough to anger the god of plumbing. I got home and my wife said "the laundry room is flooded. So I threw some towels down and closed the door." My research proved that turning on either supply line in the half bath causes a downpour in the basement. So after ripping a hole in plaster ceiling in the basement and a similar hole in the plaster under the sink, I have found a hole in the cast iron tee behind the drain pipe. My first trip to Home Depot will be tomorrow night. And now I have my weekend planned for me. On which altar do I place my offering of peace and contrition? - Kevin
P.S. I forgot to add that I don't understand the dislike of drywall. I actually enjoy mudding and taping. It takes a few simple tools. And you always know what you are getting into. No surprises. Yes, it can take a long time, especially if you are a perfectionist like me. But I find the end result rewarding. I guess i am going to have to trade services with Tom Slick.
