    I hate mices to pieces!

The cold snap had driven at least one mouse off the neighboring farm into my house. I have put out glue traps as well as "snap" traps baited with peanut butter. THe dang thing can eat the peanut butter without activating the trap! I can barely set the trap down without it going off.

What else can I try? I resist using D-Con cause I don't want to track down the carcass.

Glue traps work, just put some food in the middle. Or you can buy those mouse hotel style traps.

      Mouse Traps

Try tying a piece of raw bacon to the snap trap with a piece of dental floss. Works for me every time.

When my daughters were young, maybe 5 and 8 years old, they decided they wanted mice as pets. Thank You Walt Disney.

So, off we go to the pet store (the supply source of many burials via toilet, the girls liked fish too). We ask to pick out two mice and the owner looks back at us in amazment. "No one picks out mice", he says. "They just buy them, after all they are only used for snake food", he adds.

Also we found out that mice cannot be buried by toilet!!

They will eventually slip up and you can get them.

If it's this guy or some of his cousins, MOVE! Pure bad attitude.

Looks like you had a make-over. Great improvement!

Thanks. I tried Adele's "age defying facial creme" last night. I can really tell a difference.

We used glue traps, but not just one. We put a bunch together--like 4 or so--with peanut butter in the center of the set. We tried with just one, but the darn mice still got the PB and got out. Giving them more area to cross did the trick.

Be warned, though. We had one that did EVERYTHING to get out of the glue, to the "detriment" of some of his limbs...

Sam, We just had the same problem. We use Dcon. It's supposed to (and so far it works) comp[letely dehydrate the lil suckers so there is no decay, they just mummify.

(BTW, checked your PM's and email lately?)

We just moved from a newly-built home to a 30 year old home (the one my wife grew up in). I was rather disgusted, but not surprised, to find out that our current house has mice problems. (In some of the basement rooms, there are drop ceilings covered with mice poop!)

I'm a bit squeemish and have four young children so I've avoided the glue and snap traps. I don't want to think there are dead mice buried all over my house, so I've avoided poison. I have been very successful with live traps from Wal-Mart, which are smoked plastic boxes with one-way doors. Less successful has been the "electric chair" box, which mice seem to be able to walk in and out of with impunity.

Is peanut butter really the best bait? I'm thinking about putting poison bait inside the "live" traps, thinking that might attract them more.
