    What I've been doing.

I worked on a rental house, found 2 things to fix. The roof of the garage had rotted so I had to cut it back 15"'s, I then sistered on the studs, jacked the roof up, replaced both upper sill plates, cut and sistered on the rafters, decked it and roofing felt.

My next job was a leak under the house, renter thought washer drain line had broken, actually it was the 2" drain line from kitchen, and drain line from bathroom vanity. I spent one day figuring out what I needed, and buying it. I took my Ryobi 18volt and 4 batteries, one for the light and cut through the cast in 3 places. I then replaced with hubless connectors and ABS DWV pipe, using some glue and cleaner where I could.

I am now working on the fence in Our backyard, and I'm trying to build 2 5' gates while the heat index is 107. I then like about 12' of pickets to be done. I then go to My Daughters to work on Her house. I don't know about all this work. Bill

It has been to hot here to do almost anything, but I applaud your accomplishments. This is going change for me this week because LOML is going up to the cottage and I'm painting our bedroom.

Too freakin' hot for me to woodwork here in St. Louis. Besides, tomorrow I go back to school and start preparing my room (I have a CLASSROOM this year!!!).

Sure hope the A/C is working!

I did almost finished #2 Son's bed, just have a face frame to add. I never got to the tables--those will have to wait for cooler weather.

I pulled the nails out of the trim and got most of it painted. Did the reinstalls in 2 of the closets. Did the drywall repairs where the after disaster folks had to cut into the walls. Went and picked up a VERY HEAVY computer armoire. Just me and LOML to unload it, didn't think we would get it done. Went and got new cell phones - LOMLs up and died and the battery is going in mine. Oh yeah, also mowed the lawn.

I'M getting worn out just reading these confessions. Two things I hate to do, plumbing and hanging doors. Fortunately there's not a lot of each to do. Hold on a moment, my door won't close, I gotta get my plane, I'll be back in a while.

I feel your pain. I am trying to get our house ready to sell, so it has been nonstop working and cleaning. This weekend we laid pinestraw and mulch, and replaced all the exterior light fixtures. I also cleaned and organized the garage, cleaned out our closet, scrubbed every cabinet in the house; and did I mention staining the deck?

I am now finished with one 5' gate, and like 2' of pickets being done, along with the other 5' side of the drive gate.

LOML now tells me our DirecTv is out, so I guess I'll have to repair that before I go to my Daughters. I'm sure that crazy dog chewed it into again.

Now just need to finish one gate and the satellite. Bill

Spent Saturday morning from 9 to 11 hunting groundhogs - not complaining - it was good to finally get out and walk about. When I got back I had to get under the hood of the truck and replace the EGR valve whcih didn't clear the light on the dash. I took it off again and shot carb cleaner into the hole tht it mounts to and raft of crud came out. Poked around with a new, unsharpened pencil and flushed until clear, buttoned it up and the light went off... until I was coming home from church on Sunday - DOH!! Some reward for 3.5 hours in the sun.

It's an ambitious bunch we have here in the group!!
                Blessings,
                Chiz

The DirecTv isn't fixed, but the fence is. I bet I drank 2 gallons of water today. Bill
