Ok, so Ken Massingale cross-posted something from Woodnet about a deal on wood in N.E. Florida. I chased it down and scored some goodies. Ken, you are the man!!!

A local sawyer took a large order for a cut and the customer left him hanging. So the guy was selling off the wood to cover his cost and I lept on it. I had 3 major limitations, though. #1: I'm out of work in two weeks and money's real tight. #2: I don't have a lot of storage space. #3: It's a great truck (luv that HEMI), but it will only haul just so much.

Anyway, what I got was 200+ bd ft of 18" wide hickory (he had already sold the pecan!) for me and 30 bd ft of 10" wide maple for my boss (mikedude). The man also threw in some maple that he thought was scrap for free.

Thanks for looking. It feels great when things go well! Had a good response from the sawyer and might be able to do more with him in the future.

The cost was $1.00 per board foot. The entire load was $250.00
