    Mobile Bases

I thought I saw an article about good store bought mobile bases but can't find it. Can somebody help me pick a good one. Building a mobile base is in my future, just not my near-future. Thanks for any info/opinions.

What exactly do you intend to put on this base. Weight makes a big difference in what will or will not work on a particular base.

There is a company called HTC that makes a bazillion different mobile baes. They are sure to have one that will work for you. You can call them at 1-800-624-2027 and request one of their catalogs or talk to their CS rep. As far as I know, they have yet to setup a website.

HTC sells thru Amazon, search for "mobile base" and "HTC 2000"
HTC2000 is adjustable size, around $50.

Also Woodcraft sells shop fox mobile bases around $50

Lot of people seem to like the Ridgid Herculift, sold by Home Depot.

Delta and Jet also make them.

      Loring in Katy, TX USA

Rockler and Woodcraft each have decent sets as well. You have to provide your own hardwood for the woodcraft ones. The Rockler one is on sale right now.

On a side note, I just finished making the one from Wood Magazine. The hardware for it can actually get pretty costly, but it fits my BT3100 perfectly. It works very well.

I used a "Herc-U-Lift Plus" to add mobility to my bt3100. It took me a long time to assemble it, but it seems pretty strong and adaptable when I was done with it. It was $50 at Home Depot when I got it.

Woodcraft has their #140240 Shop Fox on sale for $49.99. I have one under my BS, love it and it's a steal at that price.
