    Graph/Line plot/Curve-drawing software??

OK, I know this is pathetic for a software engineer, but I'm a database guy and don't do engineering apps.

Can anyone point me to a simple graphing program that can can plot a curve to a series of X & Y coordinates? I know, it can probably be done in Excel, but I don't have time to figure it out. I'd like to find something that can represent units in fractional or decimal inches (or metric) and tile printer output across multiple pages in actual dimensions (being the honest employee I am, I won't use the company plotter).

    Thanks,

    James

Excel is probably your best choice in software that you've already got, and it's actually pretty easy to do. If you want to send me a list of XY coordinates, I'll create a file for you.

The only thing that might take some time to get right is the printout in actual dimensions. Since printers and screens don't always scale 100% correctly, it might take a little trial and error to get that part right.

      For excel

Put your y data in a row
Put your x data in the row below
      Highlight both rows
      Select the graph icon above
Select chart type on left (Line)
      Click next on bottom
      Click next again
      And one more time
      then click finish
You have a graph now with a trendline
right click on the trendline and when window comes up
select add trend line and it will present you with
a number of different types of selections that you can do with
      your data
Hope this helps. If you need more help email me.

it doesn't get much easier than excel.
Just put your X data in the first column, the Y data int he 2nd column.
Drag the cursor from top left to lower rt adn select all the data.
click on the graph icon on the top bar and select X-Y plot

The graphing wizard should be obvious from there.
