I use muffs both in the shop and at the shooting range. I don't find that they slip off too easily unless you make a very sudden move. I have 2 pair the cheaper set was $2 at HF and seems to quiet better then the more expensive set. In the shop I feel either is more than enough protection. Lately I've been thinking of a set of electronic muffs for the range but have not pulled the trigger on that purchase yet.(pun intended)

Thats a killer idea. I wanted something like this but I was looking for Ear Muff / Noise Cancelling / Wireless Headphones. Using your suggestion I could use these, and use FM transmitter in Sirius satellite received to transmit. Wonder what the distance is on the Sirius or IPOD type transmitters. Parked car with hood facing garage instead of backing in (cutting about 4-5 ft of transmission space. Car through steel garage door into shop (ie garage) with radio about 5 ft in from door. Total distance 12 ft or so, through metal door. Sound reception on 88.1 from Sirius transmitter is PERFECT! Dude, you just saved me $50 as I now do not need a home kit!

Take the advice of a guy who now has to use electronic ears, just use something, anything at all to protect your hearing. Hearing aids are a very poor subsitute for the original equipment.Comment
