    tool manuals

I am looking for tool manuals. Is there a place on this forum for them?

    1) Jet Band Saw WBS-20-1 (20" w/ 2HP 1PH motor)
    2) Rockwell Scroll Saw Cat# 40-407 (.33HP 3PH motor)
    3) Sears Drill Press 20" industrial rated 2HP 1PH motor
    4) Delta Shopmaster Portable Planer 12-1/2" Model TP305

If not here, then where may I find the manuals for these tools?

    Thank you,
    Paul

I'm not sure how old your stuff is, but a good source of info on older machinery is the Old Wood Working Machines website: http://www.owwm.com/

That also sounds like some neat tools, especially the 20" bandsaw and drill press.

Am I reading you right? You have a Rockwell Scroll Saw with a 3 phase motor?

Thanks for all the sources for manuals. I had looked on the Jet website and found a manual for a slightly smaller 18" band saw. I will call Jet on Monday and ask for the correct manual... and if it's safe to use this smaller band saw manual for operational purposes.

Yes, the scroll saw has a .33HP 3PH motor. The saw is Cat# 40-407 S/N 84804430. I have the rolling base for it. The motor is Rockwell #66345 RPM 1700; V 200-230/460; A 2.2/2.2; Hz 60; PH3. I could not find this model by its Cat#. It might be a 24" model that I found an online manual for. It is heavy. But I did not measure the thing and it is not with me. I found the manual at hammerwall.com.

I went to the www3 site for Sears parts and found the parts pages for my 20" drill press Model# 113213211. What about a manual though? I know pretty much nothing about running this or any of the other tools I listed.

The initial purpose of the tools is to reproduce the railings and flat scrolled ballisters on a porch of a Swiss chalet style house using wood from the property. There are many other details that have rotted and need replacement. The logs will be sawed by a local sawyer.

          Any suggestions welcome.

          Thanks again to all,
          Paul

Found all but Manual for Sears Drill Press - help please

I managed to get all the operator's manuals except for the Sears 20" Drill Press --Not online or through the telephone rep.

If anyone has the operator's manual, I would pay to get a copy of it. . .

Sears Craftsman 20" Industrial Rated Drill Press
            2HP motor; 3/4" chuck; 12-speed; 150-4200 RPM
            Sears Model: 113.219211
            S/N or date code: 92131R0027

            Thank you,
            Paul

Manuals? What are these for anyways? Don't you just usually tear open the box, plug it in and start cutting?

I thought it was, manuals are like maps, real men don't use them.

........... manuals are like maps, real men don't use them.
And once they finally figure out they haven't a clue as to why their work doesn't come out right they come here and ask for help.

Because there is already an oversized manual that no one understands...

By coming here for our question we still don't have to use the manual. If there was a manual for a women, it take a 53ft semi trailer to hold it, and sence we don't read manuals anyway, it doesn't matter.

                            Only sissies read manuals,

Real men just plug them in and then spent the next ten hours in the Emergency Room of the nearest trauma center.

On that Sears drill press... look for a number in the format 123.123456789 on a metal plate attached to the drill press. The first 3 digits will tell you who actually built it for Sears. You might find that company sells, or did sell, a virtual twin to the drill press and you might find a manual that way.

Heck, just type that whole number into Google and you might find more links to your drill press.
