    source for wood?

I live in Minneapolis, and aside from Rockler or Woodcraft, there isn't much game in town for wood that's dimensioned. That is, unless you want to pay equally exhorbitent prices for Oak or maybe Maple at HD/ Menards...

So, where would you recomend that I look if I needed to get some wood for a humidor I'd like to build for my brother? I don't have a planer or Jointer, so it'd have to be S3S at least.

    Thanks!

What wood and how much do you need? I have Root River Hardwoods here in SE MN that has a good supply of northern wood. PM me maybe I can help.

I get poplar, oak, and fir finished on four sides at Lowes. I don't know if Lowes lives in MN.

      Regards, SN

I was hoping to get Mahogany for the cigar box. Oak might be OK, but i wanted something a bit nicer.

          Something like this... from eBay

          http://cgi.ebay.com/CLEAR-MAHOGANY-B...QQcmdZViewItem

Just be aware, shipping will probably double the price.

But its S2S. I've gotten some wood from various dealers on eBay and I've had OK luck.

for around $25 this will likely be enough for 1 or 2 of those boxes.

Although I've never ordered from them, they have a huge selection.
