It can't be said that you and others didn't try, Jeff. I hope it come out real nice for your wife, Jemmy. A good woman is worth your best efforts. I also hope that you can find a way to post a photo to show off your work.
      Blessings,
      Chiz

I'm sure Nahm has done a blanket chest or two in the past. You might check out the New Yankee Workshop site...

Jemmy, I know what you mean about the skill levels shown by our other members. I'm pretty much a beginner, too. Looking at everybody's projects is inspiring and humbling, too.

Hang in there--like everything else, it takes time and practice....

Wow! Looks like a great job thus far! I respect the way you jumped in there and got started on it instead of researching plans to death. If you are like me the wife probably had a lot to do with that!

Jeff (whose wife is quite annoyed that I am on the computer instead of lining her closet with cedar at this very moment)

Happiness is sort of like wetting your pants....everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.

OK, jemmy, that's proof that you're not a beginner. That chest is waaaaaay too nice. I really like the cornice work on the bottom. DId you trace a pattern from another piece of furniture or did you design that yourself? The wife should be proud as well as happy! Does she like it? Congratualtions on a great project!!
