    Tips for storing Gorilla Glue

Let me know when I wear out my welcome...

Any tips for storing Gorilla Glue? I noticed that I have "dried out" a second bottle as it feels completely solid. Thoughts?

see, now that's a good question, I'm waiting to see the answer...
I've dried up a few bottles of PU glues in my time, too.

          Direct from GorillaGlue Website:

"To prolong shelf life, squeeze out excess air and screw the lid back on tightly. Some people try storing the bottle up-side-down keeping the liquid glue near the lid. Store the glue in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight."

Somewhat related, be sure to keep it out of reach of your pets. Other polyurethane glues too, I think.

My SIL works at one of those 24hr vet places and they've had more than a few people with dogs that have eaten it- apparently it tastes good.

squeezing out the air does work well.
I have been using the same 16oz bottle for 6 months...

I quit using it and switched to the new Locktite stuff. Less expansion and good working time.

That's all but impossible. If you're asking a question, there are others without the answer, but don't ask. When you quit asking questions or reading the answers to other's questions, you limit your learning experience. You may also be limiting mine! For example, I didn't know the tip about storing Gorilla glue.

About the only way to do that is via disrespect for other members. Oh, and via spam advertising. (Free Indonesian Viagra, anyone?)

Far as glue goes, storing the bottle upside down is probably the best.

And I also wish they took a hint and made the glue available in a caulk tube package.

If your wife will let you borrow her Seal-a-Meal

Get her to buy you the Seal-a-Meal JAR. It is about 10" high or so put the bottle in the container and then turn on the sucker unit. It will suck the air out and even crush the bottle a bit. When you shut the vacuum off the hose is disconnected and leaves the unit under vacuum for weeks or even months

Simply push the release button and open the container and use your glue then on your way back inside or upstairs stop by the machine and suck it all over again

Don't let it freeze or get too hot!! Temperature is nasty on things like glue.

As noted getting the air out of the container if very important. Makes a world of difference.
