    Which way ????

    Hey yall,
    I read somewhere the proper way to cut , Is it finished side down with a table saw & up with a circular saw??? or do I have it backwards ??

    A chip on the sholder is a sign of wood further up !!!!

    You have it backward. Easy way to remember: always have the teeth entering the good side, thus circ saw is good side down and table saw is good side up. Also use this rule with jigsaw. HTH

      Jigsaw blades also come with a tooth design to cut on the downward stroke, designed primarily for laminates, but can be used for other materials.

        Jerry'es right. The way to remember is that the fuzzy side of the cut results form the teeth pulling fibers away from the unsupported trailing side of the wood. If you look at how the table saw blade turns, it cuts at the edge closes to you and the teeth enter from the top cutting through the wood and out the bottom. So the clean edge will be on the top.

          Thanks for the information. I really do like this web sight & all the help that is here. I have just started my project. Book shelves for each side of my fire place. Merry Christmas
