Im waiting on a member here to get back to me on a 3100. Should I wait to hear from him or purchase one of the 21829? The 3100 is priced resonably with the extras he has. Dont have a ts right now so I want to get one soon like tonight or Friday. Thanks
BT3100 or Craftsman 21829?

A piece of advice:
Almost exclusively, when the reason I purchased an item was because I could get it immediately, rather then waiting a few days, weeks, or months for the item I really wanted, I wound up regretting it.
One question: I was at sears today and checked out the 21829...the table surfaces are plastic?!?!?? Is the same true of teh BT3100?? I have a BT3000 with ribbed aluminum surfaces...-John

I don't think they are plastic, just smooth alluminum. I have a BT3100 and the tables are ribbed aluminum. If you can get a good deal on a BT in good shape, I would jump on it. Check out the "Buying a used BT" article in the articles section on this site.Comment

anodized aluminum (more metallic looking) of the BT3000.
