    Miter slot attatchment.

I was wondering. I have seen miter slot attatchments for the bt3100 like the one seen here http://cgi.ebay.com/Ryobi-BT3000-BT3...QQcmdZViewItem
What I want to know is are these adjustable? I have noticed that my saw doesn't run parallel to the main table and if these just clamp on like the accessory table I don't think its going to work very well. Thanks a lot.

It is designed to clamp to the left of the main saw table, between it and where most people put the SMT. There is a slot for adjusting the parallelism of the MST to the blade, which you note is necessary for proper operation. There is also a new Ryobi BT3x derivative saw being sold by Craftsman that has miter slots on the auxiliary table but I think these are for the router only as they probably can't be made to run parallel to the blade.

If you haven't already, you might benefit from a read of the FAQ. See the link in the first permanent thread under "getting started".

And BTW, welcome to the forum.

The dual miter slot table is adjustable to the extent that there is a certain amount of slop in the mounting holes that are used to attach it to the main body of the saw. That is usually sufficient, although many add two more mounting screws to the two that come standard, so the miter slots stay where you put them a little better.

My blade also is not parallel with the grooves in the main table. I have a miter slot table on both sides of the blade and they are adjusted to be parallel to the blade.

Almost none are. the ones that are, are by accident.

In the BT3 design, it was cheaper to make the SMT and fence adjustable than to make an adjustable trunion for the motor and blade. That's why the performance for the buck of the BT3 is relatively high.

Check this continuing sale out on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/RIGHT-MITER-TABL...QQcmdZViewItem

The kit allows the miter table to be mounted on either side of the saw blade and allows for adjustability. Drilling is required.
