    Filed rail nuts!

Did anyone else do this? I noticed that the edges that compress against the rail are a bit jagged so I filed them down and rubbed waxed paper on them before assembly. Seems to make the rails slide a bit easier.

Why doesn't the word 'planing' show up in my computer spell check?

You know that's a good idea. They sure need something to make the rails slide easier - a lot easier too. Thanks for the idea.

I think I'm going to take mine back off and polish the edges with some 600 grit wet-dry sandpaper. That should stop any dragging on the rails.
May work on the SMT fence bolt too. That sticks a lot.

The 600 grit wet-dry sandpaper helped a bit more. They do slid easier.
However, I must correct myself here and possibly appologize to the designers of this saw. I said earlier that "the edges that compress against the rail are a bit jagged", which is incorrect. The side that compresses againt the rail when the lock is engaged is the rounded side. The T-nuts cannot be put in backwards. But, whatever was causing it to drag is virtually gone now.
Note: I also rubbed everything down with a piece of waxed paper. An article that I saw on the main page mentioned this and it is a great idea. Please someone remind me who that suggestion came from and give the credit due.
