Hello eveyone. Have been eying at the BT3100 for last one year. Have been reading some posts here now and then as well. Finally, yesterday, I come home .. and guess what, the BT3100 is waiting for me in the garage. My wife picked it up from HD. It was an awesome surprise. I just finished setting it up in the basement. I am very excited. THought I'd register here and say hi to everyone and ask my first question. Do I need to install a new circuit to plug in the BT3100 .. or, I can plug in an existing circuit?

Welcome to the club!

You can run the Bt3 on a 15 or 20 amp circuit, provided there isn't anything else running on it, or very little. I would continually trip mine if there all the lights were on the branch. If I made sure most or all of the other lights were off, it would be fine.

Welcome to the cult, wreck. You can run your saw on an existing circuit but you will get much more efficiency if you run it on a dedicated circuit.

Like the commericial says; "Plug it in, Plug it in..." Boy I hate that commericial But I really love my saw . I haven't had any problem running the saw with the lights and my vac (rigid 12 gal), But I did eventually put the vac on it's own circuit. I now have the lights and vac on one, all the other power tools on one. I don't run more than one thing at one time since it's only me down there... So, I would give it a try and see how it works out before running new circuits. IF it's going to be a problem you will soon know when you pop a circuit breaker. The other thing to look for is maybe a slight change in the saw's noise when you turn on other things like a vac or lights. A lot depends on what you are sawing of course and how sharp you keep your blades. Whew, I didn't intend this to be this long... You still awake
