Hi,
I'm a brand new member of the forum and a BT3000 owner of about 6 years. This looks like a place I will be spending a lot of time IF I don't wear you folks out.
Since buying my 3000 around '99, it probably hasn't seen more than one hour's use. Why? Back in the late 90's I was making lots of disposible income and started buying up all kinds of tools. I have a little bit of experience around a shop but just haven't have time to play with my toys!
I am renovating a building built around the late 1800's and figured it's time to start using all the stuff I bought. I've read through the years the slam received by non BT3000 owners but I've always thought that no matter what a person buys, there will be good things and bad things. I believe one should learn about the bad things and just learn to either make them work for you or work around them.
So....having said all that, I'll be looking to you folks as my mentors.
First question:
Not long after I bought my saw, I broke the little ears on the back end of the rip fence. I repaired them with epoxy. Is there a stronger, more suitable replacement available today for this saw?
Thanks a million,
Earl
