BT3 good for a newbie?

I'm with Drumpriest....that laminate isn't going to do your main blade any favors. Freuds 60T LU82M010 is made to endure stuff like that...the TCG teeth hold up best of all the grinds. Amazon has it for about $33 w/free s/h. Ebay may have one for less.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say THANKS for all the great advice and help from this forum as I bought my bt3100 for my laminate floor project. It's finally done (except for the quarter round) and it turned out great-- the bt3100 was fabulous for ripping and crosscutting the boards. That and my Bosch jigsaw had me in good shape for all the crazy corners in my kitchen. Here are some pix of the job! This is Costco Harmonics Cherry (same as Quickstep 800 Classic Cherry). It was quite a project but well worth it.
