This was a quick Saturday afternoon project. I had bought a plastic bracket to hold my phone while it charges, it broke pretty quickly so I decided to make something nicer and perhaps longer-lived. A few years ago I cut up a cherry tree that had blown over in a storm. One of the boards was so hinky that by the time I planed it flat it was only about 1/2" thick. Since then I've been trying to find ways to use it. It also had a bit of live edge which I decided would add character:
No fancy joinery, just butt joints and wood glue. Sanded and finished with boiled linseed oil. The hardest part was cutting all of the little pieces without cutting any fingers off. It screws to the side of my cabinet.
I wish I could take a picture of the phone in it, but I need to take the phone out to take the picture...
