Playing card draw/discard for Mille Bornes

Taking advantage of good weather this week. Two evenings working slowly.

Who played this when you were a kid? Mille Bornes the French inspired racing game. Win by going 1000 miles, don't get stopped by out of gas, flat tire, speed limit, accident hazards, gather your road safeties.
Grandkids love it, found I had a deck with no tray for discards and draw pile.

Dadoes and rabbets on the BT3, a little router work and drill press and band saw.
Was going to cut finger pull slots for the draw deck on three sides when I realized with my design the little floppy masonite base would be all that held it together. That's the trouble with designing on the fly.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

It was a fun game when I was a kid, probably 10- teens. Played in college, too on occasion.
I think I played with my kids some in the 80's-90s but my grandkids, now 7-13 love to play.
Its a classic luck of the draw, sabotage your opponent, gang up on another team game. A lot of luck so the youngest has a good chance of winning.
