    A not-so-simple box

I've been trying to figure out how to make a box with joinery that's a little more like Greene & Greene.

Recommendation 1: use good wood. I first tried this with pine ---- which simply did NOT work.

Recommendation 2: This kind of joinery needs to be done slowly. Be especially careful that you use a ZCP that's level.

Recommendation 3: Sneak up on it! You can take more wood off --- but you generally can't put it back on.

I like this Greene and Greene jointery. Attached is photo I saved for reference on a project I had in mind. As much as I hate the mess it makes of my saw blades and drum sander pine would be my choice of wood for this job. Click image for larger version
