    Chisel Box

I used to store my chisels and stone in a cheap plastic bin.

I dropped the bin a couple of weekends ago. Instead of running to the store and replacing it --- I grabbed some scrap wood. Notice the rabetted top and through dowels. Everything fits perfect (I love it when that happens)

It was a fun weekend diversion.

    Finish is Watco Danish Oil.

      You're downright picky!

The chisels each have the rubber tips Woodcraft sold them with --- I bundle them up facing alternate directions - they fit in the box really well.

There's no braces inside the box (I'm just not that fancy).

This box will last longer than any plastic bin!

That's scrap wood? Can I go through your scrap bin? Nice job!

Cool looking box. So, the question is...What's more important...the inside, or the outside?

yup - it's scrap ---- look closely at the right hand side (between the two right side dowels - then slightly to the left) ---- you can see some bug trails.

I suppose I could have sanded them out - but it's just a box for my chisels (and they're more important to my mind) - and dangit, I like character.
