    Commitment fulfilled!

Some time back (probably a birthday, or valentines or Mother's Day or ... ) I promised my wife I'd build her "anything within my meager capabilities" ... but she had to identify the project/specifications ... time passed and I thought she had forgotten about it ... (er ... I had! ) ...

There was an old copy of a WOOD magazine lying around with a picture of a glider on the front of the mag ... she left it lying around for a while ... and finally said "... I want one of those..." ...

It's really a pretty easy project, all of the wood was readily available from the local BORG ... I ordered the glider hardware from Rockler .... the whole project from start to "finish" took about 6-8 hours of shop time ... she intends to use it on the front porch out of direct sun so the waterbased Behr stain should hold up for a while ... I hope ...

Congrats on the first? project in the new shop!! It looks awesomely inviting. What color did you use? Did you let the wood acclimate? How much does that weigh?

@Chop ... the wood was very dry when I got it and it sat in the shop about a week. Color is Behr Natural Cedar

actually 2nd project in new shop ... 1st (after assembly table) was daughter's big dining room table. It weighs A LOT !!! lots of 2x6 lumber.

oops, must be slipping, I can't believe I forgot the table!!

Cedar... I was thinking it was construction lumber, that's why I was curious about the m.c.

          Very cool.

Nice work. It didn't take that long. My wife has been hinting about a glider ever since our patio set included a rocker.

Great looking glider. Good time of year to get it built for some nice evenings on the porch!

nice. now make sure the next project requires a new power tool you've been wanting.

Very nice! As I look at it it's hard to imagine that it could be done so quickly!
                      Great job.
