Some time back (probably a birthday, or valentines or Mother's Day or ... ) I promised my wife I'd build her "anything within my meager capabilities" ... but she had to identify the project/specifications ... time passed and I thought she had forgotten about it ... (er ... I had!
) ...
There was an old copy of a WOOD magazine lying around with a picture of a glider on the front of the mag ... she left it lying around for a while ... and finally said "... I want one of those..." ...
It's really a pretty easy project, all of the wood was readily available from the local BORG ... I ordered the glider hardware from Rockler .... the whole project from start to "finish" took about 6-8 hours of shop time ... she intends to use it on the front porch out of direct sun so the waterbased Behr stain should hold up for a while ... I hope ...

It looks awesomely inviting. What color did you use? Did you let the wood acclimate? How much does that weigh?
