SWMBO requested a dress up bin for our daughter. She loves playing dress-up and it was getting out of hand. Made this out of scrap. Top rail is for hanging clothes. Bottom bin if for hats, scarves, masks, etc.

great idea. Some good enhancement ideas would be a full length mirror (short for kids) and some drawers for small accessories like jewelry and maybe some hanging hooks for belts and purses...
You could put the mirror on one end and tilt it (prop the bottom our a bit) so they can see their head even if the unit and mirror are shorter than they are.
Some hooks could appear on the other end, then.Last edited by LCHIEN; 11-05-2012, 09:48 AM.Loring in Katy, TX USA
If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

A very clever fixture. Your daughter will love it. The top rail may show some wear after a while from the hangars (if she uses them).

She's 4, will be 5 in January. She really started to like dressing up around 3. The good thing about this bin is that since it stays out, she uses her dress-up clothes more often. Before we had them in a box in the closet and she didn't use them as much.Comment

Hope you don't mind if I reproduce your project four times.
My grand daughters will love them. Looks like it should be easy to complete four before Christmas.Comment
