Newest jewelry box

I just finished this one on Friday and here it is.
I named this one AJA, which is from a Steely Dan album by the same name.
For those of you who aren't familiar if you listen to the song, you'll understand what I mean.
The box is made of Bloodwood and Ebony.
The detail on the drawer fronts I learned from a weekend class I took will Darrell Peart in the Connecticut Valley School of Woodworking.

And no body parts were sacrificed in the making of this box.

What I don't like about this box!

The combination of woods...NOPE!

The gentle curve of the top...NOPE!

The inlays in the doors...NOPE!

The unique door pull...NOPE!

The elegant design of the drawer pulls...NOPE!

I'm not sure where to start with my questions and comments (being a box builder willing to steal any idea worth stealing ).

You have used a fine selection of design and materials.

Are the hinges just regular brass hinges, painted black?

In really like the feet. They create the "lifting clouds" motif in a new and outstanding way. We'll call them "Cohen Feet" from now on.

Are the top, bottom, and dust shelf made of solid ebony? Did you hit the lottery?

As beautiful as that front medalion is, and I know you sweated over it, it's not the most beautiful part of the box. The gentle curves, choice of materials, and overall shape make up the sundae. The medalion is the cherry.

Nice use of the inlay accross the front. I assume that's a store-bought piece. I've noodled through ways to use that stuff for accent and you've found the perfect implementation.

Would you care to share any joinery info? Drawers, case, feet, etc?

Finally, I associate myself with all of Pappy's comments, complete with envious sarcasm. This is a really nice project and should be on the front page of your portfolio from now forward.
