Purpleheart and Oak squares along with Redwood borders and dividers.
Was a little lazy early on and didn't put dividers in between the oak and purpleheart for the first glue-up. That would have helped the cafe-wall illusion pop out more. And really, no, I was not in any way trying to make something that would drive the mother in law batty ...
Just put a first coat of walnut oil on after sanding to 1200 or so grit. I figure I got the power tool and the velcro pads ... might as well use them.
I am thinking of sanding again after a few days of letting the walnut oil cure.
Not sure I like the rounded redwood ends, but felt like I needed to just complete it and send it. Probably just being to self critical.
