    Little Trains

These are the trains I built for my grandsons, Brandon and Cole. I had enough stock in the shop that I also added one for Ahna after I found out she likes trains!

Cole's big sister, Shanna has been visiting for the last couple of weeks and wanted to help me in the shop, so I was happy to have her help. Since she was promoted to "shop helper first class", I decided she needed to be in the picture too!

The trains were built from plans I got from Miesel Hardware. I bought the wheels, axels, stacks, and coupler pins from them as well. This was a nice little bandsaw project and alot of fun. I made the trains for the boys from red oak (figured they would need to be strong!) and Ahna's from maple with red oak tops.

    Wow

Those are neat. The grandkids will love them. Especially the one in the picture. Our grandaughter was here for a month and got to help me also. She just left yesterday morning to head back to Dothan.

Those are great Larry. I don't know why but the is extra joy and fun in making toys for the kids. I am sure they would love it.

Nice job on the trains, but how do you get any work done with such a cute helper around????

New grandson due soon and I am already finding myself looking at toy pattern books in the stores.

Thanks fellows! These were fun to make and most importantly, can be shipped without breaking the bank!

I'll post some cose ups later this evening Loring. I'm not sure if these will fit that track or not. I wondered about that the other night when I was in Toys-R-Us.

For me, the grand kids are what it's all about Pappy! Believe me, there are tons of plans out there, even a helicopter! Most are too big to ship cheaply.

I finally got caught up with all ten grandkids and now there are two more coming!

How are these Loring? The engine & cars are made from 3/4" stock and the tops are 1/4". The wheels are 7/8" diameter and the wheel track is about 1 1/4".

Yes, that is the Sea King in the back ground. Work is progressing, but at a slow bell.
