    Finished my Thien separator!

I posted this on his site, but I wanted to give him another big thanks for his public design and his forum for the great amount of ideas that are on there. With all the nitty gritty already worked out for me I truly only had to focus on reworking the cart! Cgallery =

    Thanks!

Looks cool. How do you go about emptying the drum?

That bulging rubber fitting (fernco) slides down and there is a 1-2" gap allowing me to slide the drum out.

I have been thinking of reworking my HF DC to put the motor in line with the bag inlet. I will have to see if it would be high enough to put the Thein under the motor. Thanks for the idea!

I have been thinking about modding my HF DC in the similar manner. I REALLY like your angle aluminum approach... I might just have to borrow your idea.

Good job!!! Your cover looks air tight with that metal clamp around it, did you install a gasket around the cover too? I like your alum frame work good job.

Thanks all, the angle was fairly inexpensive, 1/8" wall 2" equal angle at a supplier was $35 for a 16' stick

I kept a spreadsheet on the cost: all the nuts, bolts, fittings, barrel, hardboard, blades, bits, etc. basically all incidentals = $127.44 the delta itself was a score of $100 on a Lowe's clearance so I am looking at a 1hp, 650 cfm double stage air cleaner for $227. Not too shabby.
