    Guess What It Is

My wife is starting a new hobby and needed this. They sell for $130.00 plus, which I thought was a rip off so I took on the task of making it. I used 1x4 red oak with simple lap joints and lumber yard dowels. It is finished with MinWax satin poly.

I don't know but it has a NEMA 5-15R duplex outlet in the middle of it for up to 1800 Watts of electrical power, very neat.

Anyone else notice the lack of baseboard?

Looks like a loom of some kind... Also similar to the stretch racks used to tan hides.

Is she perhaps getting ready to make some baby booties or perhaps a sweater?

It is a warping board to go with her new loom. It looks like weaving is like turning, the loom is a drop in the bucket compared to all the other things you need/want. Next I am going to try a bobbin winder.

                Dick,

Believe it or not I know what it is. My mom has one for her loom. I don't know how you use it but I know what it is called. I know this because she bought one off Ebay for a lot more than I could have made one for, and hers is not made out of oak.

You need to post another picture of it in use.

Dick, did you drill through the 1x4 or did you just embed the dowels in half way?
I think in straight lines, but dream in curves
