LOML has been badgering me to make Thomas Jefferson (our youngest!) a step stool. Even though I am was already working on two other projects I decided to take a break and make the stool using hand cut dovetails and glue. No mechanical fasteners were used in this red oak stool. I used only 5' of 4/4 by 6" red oak. Not nearly finished as It has just been stained with Minwax red oak. I'll apply a few coats of poly before bringing it into the house. Enjoy the pics. This is not my first effort at hand cut dovetails but so far my best work. I get better with each time. FWIW sharp chisels is a must!
