    Wide step-stool

It was a quick and easy build and I definitely didn't take much time with it. The finish is G.F.'s water based dye light brown over red oak with G.F.'s HP Polyurethane (4 coats) matte finish. Joined using pocket screws. The poly was awesome to work with - water based, hardly any smell and self levels really nicely. Thanks for looking

Looks good, was this your design? I like the finish for the oak you used.
I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

Excellent... you nailed the thickness allowing both proportion and strengh... and the amount of over-hang. Well proportioned all around.

        Well done...

That's very nice. The finish really blends with the floor. I'm sure that I would fall over it about 50-60 times. One question; was there a specific purpose for building it wider?

Thanks for showing us the pictures.

                    Very Cool

                    Great design and execution.

Just an Idea, if this is going to be used on other hardwood floors, I would add some sort of nonskid pad on the bottom of each foot.

Thanks everyone. Rich, it was wide at my wifes request. I built it for her as she is getting a little round in her pregnancy and was having problems putting the little guy into his crib. She wanted it wide enough to not "fall off of". I thought of installing some non-skid stuff too shoottx, but its going to be used on top of a rug in the baby's room. TY for the thought.

That looks really good, I would probably end up using it for plants,
                            cause it's so pretty.
...then would have to build another one to use as a step stool.
A step stool like that sure comes in handy.
I need one as well, so that I can reach a few of our top shelves.
Good job on a very handy item!
