    Router Fence Upgrade v2.0. It's a monster...

Well, it's done, all except cleaning up some glue squeeze out that I am honestly not worried about..

Like I said before. I laminated 2 3/4" pieces of MDF, and then laminated some 3/16" hardboard on top of that... I wasn't apparently thinking how THICK this thing was going to be... The hardboard idea is great, nice dead flat smooth surface to slide stock against...

Once that cured, I cut the Dado for the T slot, and for some reason the MDF was tighter fit to the t track than the melamine was using the same blades and shims... I guess I just needed beer or something....

The bevel was cut, the T track was glued, and everything was screwed into place. Then the featherboards were tested. Hence this morning's posts about it being a shave too tall. MY original thought about having the featherboard just kiss the table I think was right... So measure to where I really wanted to be, 3/4", and the angle on the opening was at 45 deg instead of 30 like I had wanted. Off to the table saw again to slice 3/4" off the bottom, and then to the CMS to slice the opening angle. The orange paint you see on the fence is from the CMS blade. Stupid B&D blade... (Yeah I hacked through aluminum with a blade I don't care about...).

So, I fitted it all up, and gave it a test run cutting some roundovers in scrap. It works better than I had expected. Now for the miter slot / add on table brainstorming!

The view as you face the router table piece...

The cut in angle for the center opening.... Even my biggest bits won't challenge this...

Now that's the money shot! You can see how the Ryobi router accessory kit mounts up to the rip fence, and just how thick this thing really is!

I am not sure if I am going to redo this or not, if I do, I will definately NOT be laminating 2 sections of 3/4" together! The 3/4" and 3/16 hardboard would have been fine...

You definetly have a solid fence! I like the hardboard idea.

      That's not a fence, it's a wall...

Well, I told you guys I wanted a TALL fence... And while this isn't exactly Norm's NYW tall fence, it's kind of my take on what Ryobi should have done in the first place. Mind you I did screw up. There is no real purpose behind the double thickness of the MDF... Once that hardboard went in, I am sure that would have been fine for what I was doing, just hardboard and a single layer of MDF...
