Kids Table and Chairs (my 1st BT3 project)

I got to use all of the BT3 (Sears 21829) features on my first go around. Almost joined the club on the angle cuts. I LOVE having the integrated router table.









My daughter's day care asked if I could build a table and chairs. I modeled the chair off an existing chair that they had (in the background on the first pic) and tried to match the angles/curves to the table.

If only the Borg 3/4 Birch wasn't a 1/16 off in thickness, my slot/slip fit would have been perfect....or I guess I could have measured the thickness first.

The top is joined to the legs via Kreg Jig screws.

I let the kids at her day care put their hand prints in paint on the top.

The curved plywood reminds me of stacked cubes and matching brightly colored tables we had at my elementary school.
Im sure they will be well used and appreciated.

I like that... Not sure about HD, but I am pretty sure that the Blue Box 3/4" is really 15/32", and a 32" Dado / slot would be a hair loose...

Wood Magazine's current issue has a good write up on getting tight dadoes, you might want to check it out... That is unless you used a router bit for those slots, in which case you kind of stuck with the thickness they give you...

Nice job Ski Powder (which cost me one knee.. skydiving got the other) .... it reminds me of the table I used when single just after returning from VN in the small efficiency appartment I lived in briefly. That should fit the ticket nicely at day care.

DB, yep. don't have dado yet. That's on my wish list. I used 3/4 router bit for the first slot. then after test fitting and finding my error; i used the stock blade and just nibbled the second slot.

Holbren has a set of plywood bits for $2. They do have a couple small issues. Still not a bad price.
