    Baby Crib

Let me preface by saying that I only did the carves and the archs for this piece but it turned out so nice I wanted to share. The wood is cherry with a clear top coat. It is expandable so it can later be converted to a twin sized bed. Is it kosher to post someone elses work?

Wow -- looks great! I'd love to see a closer view of the carvings.

Very nice stuff. If you can take and post some close ups of those carvings, we'd love to see that work!

The close ups he sent came out too fuzzy to see any detail but at least I finally ran across someone who takes worse pictures than I do. I'll see if I can get a zoom cut and paste in a bit.

The zoom doesn't do justice to the carves but at least it shows them somewhat better.

Those are very nice carvings, the crib is excellent as well, should serve a few generations of kiddos.

wow these carvings are great ,they seem so Perfectly precise !
did you just freehand these with a drawing/pattern or was there soem kind of 3D templates involved?
reminds me of what you see made with those CAD/CAM carving machines.
wonderful job, thats an heirloom piece for sure.

They are almost too precise which is why I use carving knives on them to make them less precise. I have a CarveWright machine so it's hi-tech cheating.
