This started as a picture of a similar entertainment center my wife found online. With some planning, a lot of trial and error, a substantial investment in the pocketbooks of the local hardwood supplier and just over 18 months this is what she gets.
I made the doors, moldings. Face frames and carcasses are all assembled with pocket screws as I couldn't get clamps to fit the 45' angle or masking tape to hold the pieces tight enough.
The finish is a water based Minwax, poly-crylic in an effort to prevent yellowing, we colored the finish with just a few teaspoons per quart of water based stain. I learned how to spray a finish and in the end it came out great.
The only remaining item to buy is to buy the glass shelves that will fit into the sides.
Lets just hope that we can always find a TV to fit this piece of furniture.
