Couldn't find any really nice plans so just sort of did this one on my own based on a photograph in the Williams and Sonoma catalog. This is maple and cherry. Think if I did it again it will be a lttle smaller. This one is 5 1/2 " across, 11' at the bottom.

the knife blocks
sorry for the picture size, will try to re-size. many thanks to those of you who responded, especially Larry, your method was painless. -
I remember you asking for plans awhile back. I almost responded with something along the lines of "you don't need no stinking planzz." Looks like you figured that out on your own and did a great job!Mike

Buddy,
Looks great! Was just getting on to look for some examples when I saw yours. For the the knife slots did you just run the piece through the table saw? Measured the thickness of my knives and was way smaller than my thinnest blade, thought about trying to take off a thin layer on the router table, but may be too much trouble. Now that you have built one, anything you would do different next time?
Thanks,

Actually, was not too hard to make but I did do a full size rough drawing on quad paper to refer to. good luck if you try one of these.
