In all fairness to those that use poplar and ply as I can't see the sides clearly.. I was somewhat surprised when you mentioned what the components were in your second post.

My conclussion is:

Again.. without a side view of the cabinet, probably the most outstanding use of finish I have ever seen working poplar and ply (as both are not walks in the park working with in the finish stage) on top of some good looking.. well planned construction on the part of the constructee..

In other words... ya done good bubba!

Thanks Sarge, I was suprised how well it turned out as well. Probably because it is so dark.... Trust me I have had my trials with poplar staining.... Wish I could attach another pic to show you the side, but is just like the back as it is birch as well. But the cabinet is now a family treasure at my daughters house, just received a thank you note today in the mail from her thanking me again..... wander what she wants next
