This is not the way I would have chosen to build this cabinet. However, this is for my brother-in-law and to his specifications. He wants to do the finish on it, so the end result will be out of my control. I'm sure he'll do a good job of it.
The entire cabinet is made with red oak plywood. The doors are solid oak. I used my own input into the style of the doors. He wanted just one large door made of plywood.
I think function was his main focus.
This project was the first time I've used the pocket hole screws. I may have used more than I needed. It won't come apart for sure.
Since the purpose of this cabinet is to hold a 30 gallon fish tank, I found some appropriate knobs for the doors.
I made square molding to stay with the square lines of the cabinet.
