Thanks, Paul, I don't mind sharing at all, but I need to wait until after Christmas to do it.

If you want to use my method though, here you go: I hand-drew a single lobe of a heart (look at the left lid to see what I mean) on a 3x5 card that was trimmed to the width of my bloodwood stick, and then folded in half for symmetry. I stacked two cards together before cutting, so as to get two identical, symmetrical lobes. I put the points together and adjusted the angle until I had a pleasing heart shape. Then I traced the line from the top lobe onto the bottom one to get the convex curved side.

From paper I went to 1/2" MDF templates. If you can template route from there, so much the better, but I couldn't pull it off. In my case the limiting factor was the width of my stick, everything sort of derived from that constraint.

After Christmas I'll throw my templates on the scanner and post up a PDF.
