    The Fruitcake Box

Last year a buddy of mine got me a fruitcake as a gag gift ..... I vowed that he would get it back, but I needed a box to return it in since I wanted to keep the tin as a reminder of how this all started.

I had looked thru Wood's wine box plan, but I SWEAR I didn't have them in front of me when I made this, I used their idea in my head, took rough measurements and ran with it, but I never so much as looked at the plan for at least 2 weeks before this adventure.

more flamed box elder and walnut ......

If it ain't broke.. don't fix it!!!... but you can always 'hop it up'

Very nice looking box. I need to make one similar to that myself.

Nice. I especially like the handle ... it's beautifully proportioned.

And I see that Jenny McCarthy approves, too.

I don't know if I've ever actually TASTED a fruitcake. The appearance is enough.......haha

Really does look good (the box that is). Does all box elder wood look like this ? I've been very curious about this wood because we have 7 of these large trees in the yard and some of them really need to come down. Not to mention the particular bug they attract by the hundreds.

I like fruitcake after marinating it in brandy.

                        Nice job, Thom.

You gotta have the home made fruitcake soaked in dark rum for 4 months ...
