Excellent job! Our cabinets look like twin brothers to yours, except for the drawers. But we bought them, then installed them ourselves. Couldn't see paying someone to install them, and couldn't afford to waste that much lumber trying to do a job like that.

              I'm very impressed!!!

We're starting a kitchen remodel soon, and I had wanted to build the cabs myself. LOML said no, it would take too long. I think she's rethinking my offer now that she sees the $15,000 estimate for the Kraftmaid cabs!!

Like you, I was planning on using the savings to buy some tools (can you say "unisaw?").

              Thanks for living my dream

Very cool, I'm looking at doing the same thing probably in the next year. LOML does not like the cabinets currently in place in our tract home (go figure, she's learned to appreciate quality ) so she has placed her order. I countered with my must have tool list before starting, and she didn't even blink. Either I'm getting better at slipping in that "it's ONLY going to cost..." or else she's heard it often enough that it doesn't bother her as much.

Beautiful job, would be interested to hear of any lessons learned--wish I'd have done this differently, wish I'd have had this jig earlier, etc.

Fantastic Job! I've been in my track home for just a few years and it looks like I might have to tackle this kind of project fairly soon. If you have any words of wisdom you'd like to share, I'm all ears.

Lee -- simply incredible job! Please tell me you are retired -- I cannot imagine doing that many cabinets in one year, while working the old 9-to-5.

Actually, I'm just having a hard time imagining making that many cabinets!

Congratulations! The cabinets are beautiful and sounds like you were able to get new, nice tools with the money you saved. Good for you!

                          Take care, Mike Florida

                                sorry for the title ...

i have a project on about the same scale and have not done much price research as yet ... you mentioned a "basic cabinets" estimate and mschrack told us of the $15K Kraftmaids' ... how close is that to the estimate you got?

                                inquirrering minds wanna know!
