    Made in Poland (TV stand)

    Good day

Not only Made in Poland but also from Polish white Oak (Domb in Polish).
In this area, you through a stone, you hit an Oak tree, but they are protected and you need permission to cut it even if it's in your private garden.

Three separate units, each, L-40", W-22", H-24" (including the legs).

The designer is my wife so I don't have any problems with the client but I do have many changes during the construction.

All the joints (carcass and doors frame) are dowels (made on my crazy router table of course) and I used Polyurethane glue.

I don't have Panel raising bit nor big enough (or strong) router for this kind of bit, so the Panel raising was done with "mushroom head" bit (I think it's called Cove bit).

Finish, sanding down to #600, stain and some 5 layers of clear Varnish.

    Regards
    niki

Niki I hope you know that you aren't making any friends by showing off like that. WOW!! That is just simply beautiful. Are you sure you aren't confusing that piece with some high priced furniture piece you bought at some fancy furniture store. And while my routing experience is very limited I know I should be very much impressed with the routing bits you had to use to build it. Your wife by the way has excellent taste and appears to be one fine designer. I love that design. Very nice hardware too I might add. Looks sharp and really sets the pieces off. All I can say about the wood is again WOW!. Beautiful grain. That's just about the prettiest wood I've seen not to mention the finish is very pleasing. Overall I'd say you deserve an A+ on that project. Give the wife an A+++. Thanks for showing it Niki. Hmmm. I also like the leg design. Really perfect for that piece. Count me as being extremely impressed with the project and very envious of your talents.
May you die and go to heaven before the Devil knows you're dead. My Best, Mac

Beautiful--I like the width of the rails and stiles on those panel doors.

Looks great Nikki!! When you mentioned the Polish White Oak, and clear varnish. I was picturing something a lot lighter. Then again I forgot the word Polish in front.

Any future pictures on the construction?

Thank you so much for your warm compliments

                Mac
My wife really deserves most of the compliments, she is planning very simple to build units, yet very elegant (even I'm impressed but don't tell here...).

At the beginning of my hobby, she was working with me so she is very much aware of the problems that we face during the construction.

For the door frames, she told me to cut a few pieces of cardboard in different width and she choose the width.

She also selected the stain colour (but I selected the Varnish) and the handles

Did I mentioned that she is also deciding which tool I have to buy? and usually they are the "high end" (it's me that buys the cheap Made in Chiwan tools).

In general, it's really a pleasure to work when I have a problem, she is saying "so do it like that if it's easier or less complicated for you".

                The Ric
I don't have any WIP pictures for this unit but I have for other unit, with the same construction method and I will post them some time.

                Thank again

That is just outstanding Niki. I like everything about it. The wood is beautiful, as is the finish. But I especially like the long, low, symetrical design.

Niki, how do you have time to actually build things when you're providing us with so many excellent instructions for making jigs and fixtures? Does Poland award medals to people who are "national treasures"? I have a nomination!

                        David
Most of the jigs are "seniors" in my garage.

I don't work from November to March (too cold) so that's the time that I'm improving existing jigs based on the experience from the last "season" and also, I have a lot of time to post.

I'm not "original" Pole, I live here only 2 years.

So Niki if you aren't Polish then what Nationality are you then if I may be so bold as to ask. I normally wouldn't be so nosy but am somewhat amazed at your abilities so just interested. Well, plus being an insurance agent am just nosy.
