I'm afraid I'd have to serious bodily harm to the first person that set a glass down on that work of art; with or without a coaster!
Finished ahead of schedule!

Thanks everyone for the nice thoughts. This was a major “Push Me” project as I find the only real way I learn is to push myself beyond my perceived skills and abilities.
This table is really not my wife’s style of furniture as she really likes the mission/stickley stuff but man I tell you that did not stop her on this one. She had a place picked out for it before I started final assembly and fussed at me to not scratch it while taking photos!
Hank, the top is really neat if you look at it from one direction you see a completely different pattern from that of another direction. It has so much depth when you look from the top it is like it is several inches thick.
Larry, I seem to be under that threat also! My wife has taken protective ownership of all the pieces I have done and I am not allowed to use them under threat of a beating.

that top is a magic eye. what is the picture in it like?
The tipping mecanism makes the whole thing look like an arm holding a big fancy tray, which makes it very cool.AlexComment

Keith, the bundles were about 24” long by 4” wide with 8 pieces per. Like I said the edges were in pretty bad shape but I thought I could still do something with it. Out of two bundles I have two sheets left.
I am already onto thinking about my next piece. I think I am going to use this veneer that I picked up.
It is called Anigre and this is just a picture of it raw with no mineral sprits or nothing. Has fantastic figure in it I think.

Absolutely gorgeous. And also ensures that I won't be posting any pictures of my work down in this section of the forum. No way can I compete with anything that beautiful.
Thanks for sharing !
