Tops are 3/4" ply with the plastic laminate. The front edging has a wide rabbet that wraps under about and inch and a half. I rabbeted the back to run under about three inches. The right and left halfs are connected with a 3/4" ply backing piece at the joint and the back edging runs the full length of the top. Pat

Thanks for the info. Sounds quite sturdy! How did you get the wraps to be level with the laminate? Just careful measuring? I would think that leveling after the fact would be hard to do as the laminate might be damaged.

Beautiful -- Does your DIL by any chance live in a computer room? The foor sure looks like the tiles for a raised floor for a computer room -- Bet is sure is easy to run the extension cords.

Carefull measurment and sever chunks of scrap to test the rabbet depth. Pat
