Opinions on BT3000 vs BT3100 base?

Random question I have, is there a general preference on which sawbase the community tends to prefer? As I posted before, after I bought a BT3100 saw on marketplace, I was talking to a buddy of mine, and he gave me his BT3000 he wasn't using.

I had read about some of the differences between them, like the motor shim thing, but didn't realize the bases were pretty different until I picked it up. I think I prefer the much more squared off style of the 3000. Where does everyone else land?

Kind of irrelevant at the moment since I'm using a wooden cabinet base I picked up, but I might switch off in the future as I get my garage more together

People like that you could build drawers and things into the square three thousand cabinet. Harder for the splayed leg 3100 cabinet.

If your only tool is a hammer, you tend to treat all problems as if they were nails.

I have the BT3000 base and find it adequate for modifying for storage. From pictures, I wouldn't be interested in the truncated pyramid of the 3100. It would compromise storage even more. I have seen drawers built into the BT3000 base that came out nice.
I'm just persnickety about dead space in storage, though.

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking, other than cost cutting on less material from Ryobi, I couldn't think of any advantages of the splayed leg. Thanks

I had a 3000 and gave it to one of my son in laws around 2011 and really liked that stand better. I have a 3100 and wish I had given it to my son in law and kept the 3000. Yep, I had BT3x 2 saws.

Imagine doing this (BT3000 stand DIY drawer set) (copied from a post by member mpc in 2012 but he said this was from many years before the post).
