It comes down to what I call the moving saw, fixed wood or fixed saw, moving wood issue.
If the wood is larger than the saw its easier to fix the wood and move the saw, hence 4x8 sheets of plywood clamped to sawhorses and a circular saw and a guide. Or a 12 foot 4x4 clamped to the fence of a miter saw with the blade moving up and down, vs doing either type of cuts on a table saw. Fixed wood, moving saw.
OTOH, a smaller piece of wood easily fed is easier on a table saw... Moving wood, fixed saw.
